The proceeds raised through fundraising efforts and community donations support the Wakulla
County Sheriff’s Office Community Outreach Fund, which benefits a variety of important local
initiatives.
Among these is Project Graduation for Wakulla County’s graduating seniors — a long-standing
WCSO-sponsored program that provides a safe, alcohol- and drug-free Grad Night celebration.
The fund also helps make our annual Christmas in the Park possible. Thanks to the generosity
of our donors, last year’s event provided Christmas presents to approximately 200 children in
our community.
The Outreach Fund also supports the Senior Watch Program, which assists our older residents
through regular wellness checks, resources, and outreach to ensure their safety and connection
within the community.
In addition, funds help sponsor local youth, middle, and high school sports teams in baseball,
football, and cheerleading, as well as assist community organizations such as the Palaver Tree
Theater, Senior Center, Wakulla Coastal Optimist Club, Kiwanis Club of Wakulla, Wakulla 4-H,
Operation Santa Wakulla, Wakulla County Christian Coalition, Wakulla Academic Boosters, the
Rotary Club, the LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence) program, the VFW, and
Special Olympics, among others.
Through fundraising and community support, the Sheriff’s Office is able to sustain these
meaningful initiatives without using general funds or taxpayer dollars. Every dollar raised goes
directly back into programs that strengthen our youth, support our seniors, and enhance the
overall well-being of our Wakulla County community.
